Pakistan, Afghanistan & the US: What Lies Ahead

This Tuesday, June 6, 2017, the Hudson Institute’s South and Central Asia Program hosted a roundtable discussion on the current US policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan, called “Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US: What Lies Ahead.” Dr. Mohammad Taqi, a professor at the University of Florida, noted analyst on South Asian politics and Hudson contributor, gave the presentation. Topics discussed included the specific troubles ailing       Afghanistan, Pakistan’s strategic calculations in the region, the Taliban’s ties to Pakistan, the Pashtun role in the Afghan conflict, and recommendations for both the Afghan and American governments about how to shape future policy in the region.
